NASCAR chooses not to play big brother in 2010?

When I was around 10 or 11 years old I guess my brother and I got into the biggest fight with each other on the ride home one day. Our parents tired of the relentless cycle of hearing us yell at each other and drive each other crazy had apparently had enough. Instead of the usual "stop it", "leave each other alone", or my favorite "both of you to each side of the car" we got something a little different that day. We arrived home still brewing over whatever it was that had sparked this tiff my dad told us to go in the backyard and have it out...a good ol' fashioned put up your dukes brawl was sure to ensue. I was so furious with him that I was certain that I was going to get to that backyard and lay into him with what could have only been about all 80 pounds of me at the time. We walked to the backyard and I could sense that we were both still fuming but as soon as we stood toe to toe and looked each other in the eye we couldn't find it in us to beat one another senseless. Much like that day was a part of growing up, NASCAR version 2010 will definetly experience the same phenomenon. When you don't have daddy to run to anymore and tell on your big brother you learn how to be a man. It is about time that NASCAR let these grown men grow up and start handling their own business. Telling drivers how to drive has increasingly grown old over the years. Drivers want to be treated like men and this will create a sense of responsibility on part of each of them. If someone steps out of line and another driver doesn't like it they will have to handle it themselves with no mediator to make the situation better. NASCAR is essentially saying "you want to have it out boys...go in the backyard and have at it" and that is what the series has been missing. Does this mean that NASCAR will "get back to its roots" this year? Doubtful. Will it provide fans with more excitement on and off the track? Likely. NASCAR and it's hands off experiment might just be what the series needs but will only know the cost after things get out of hand. The same cycle will continue regardless though...the whiners will continue to whine and the winners will continue to win until enough of the winners become whiners....and then here come NASCAR to intervene.
